First of all, I am grateful to have my practical training at Hotel uitm pulau pinang. Before I go further for this report. I feel lucky to say that practical at Hotel Uitm pulau pinang have given me a lot of new experiences in completing my journey to achieve my diploma
As a trainee at Hotel Uitm Pulau Pinang,I learn so many things that I think it was the best for me. Even though I am not practical in the real and big food industry line,but for me this situation is the same ,because I believe that if we have the heart of learning things that you like,we can survey in wherever place we are placed.
Starting as a trainee in receiving area have given me a new knowledge about how to receive things in a proper way in real situation.Receiving item is not that easy that I thought before,we need passion to do such work,for examples,dividing meat items,dairy product ,vegetables and weighing items.Few things I realized was that personal skill in communication with suppliers while the process of receiving items is very important.besides,a good knowledge in receiving item is important to ensure that the item received is in a good condition in term of price and quality. I am lucky to get a chance to be in pastry kitchen at hotel uitm.the art of pastry makes me to go more in this field.Good support and guidance from the senior staffs give me a lot of new knowledge.Same as in the main kitchen, all of the staffs are very friendly and supportive to me.Senior staff, Mr daud has taught me a lot about malay cuisine that I will never forget.
Special in this training, I am very grateful to have my own academic adviser as my executive chef. This situation makes me easier to get my work done better because of the good support and guidance from him.This is because I believe that a good knowledge comes from a good teacher.
