We as a society have one big problem on our hands. This problem is sleep deprivation because there are not enough hours in the day to get stuff done. Between work, school, family, and leisure it seems like we do not have enough time to get are daily tasks done let alone have time for sleep. It is recommended by the U.S Department of Health that people need a solid eight hours of sleep to maintain good health. I don’t know about you, but I struggle every night to get six hours of sleep let alone trying to get eight. Now that we have identified the problem, we can now impose solutions to this problem. The first solution to this sleep deprivation problem is creating a daily planner that enables you to keep track of your daily activities. Using this planner will allow you to better manage your time by visually making yourself aware of all that needs to get done in a day, and how long you should spend on each task depending on importance. For example, if you have a lot of homework one day that task will take up more of your time then your leisure because at the end of the day life is sacrifice and you have to sacrifice your leisure for work in order to get more sleep. Another great solution to this problem is to be aware of deadlines in your daily life. Everybody has deadlines between work and school, and becoming aware of these deadlines will allow you to work on one thing at a time. When you work on one thing at a time, you complete more things which will free up more time than simply working on multiple things at one time and not getting any of them done. The final solution to this problem is to learn to cope with the stresses of life. Let’s face it, everything we do in this world involves stress so maintaining a balance of stress is the key to success and a happy life.
