How are you involved in giving back to others and/or your community? I try to extend an effort towards giving back to others and my community. Through my agriculture class, my fellow classmates and I have done numerous projects in an attempt to give back to local people and our community as a whole. For instance, my agriculture class has given back to local people by doing volunteer work, such as pouring new concrete driveways, as a part of our learning program. Also, we have done numerous activities that have benefitted the whole community, such as cleaning up the tennis courts at our local park, painting the cabins in our campgrounds, and installing a fence for our day care program. Various activities take place during the school year, so being involved with several of these often leaves my schedule very full and leaves me stressed out. To me, the fall months and the spring months are the busiest of the school year. Fall is busy due to my involvement with the football team and my involvement with the harvest of crops at my family-owned farming operation. During the football season, we have practice Monday through Thursday, with games being on Friday. Practices usually are scheduled from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and usually 7:00 p.m. is the starting time for games. This often results in me being left with little time to do other activities during the school week. Then, at about the start of October, the harvest of crops begins, which occupies much of the time that I have left during the week, including weekends. During the spring months, I am once again put in a similar situation. Our local FFA Chapter begins to become very active, with many competitions taking place and the FFA State Convention occurring. Several of these competitions cause me to miss school. As a result, I then have to make up homework. Later on in the spring months, the planting of crops begins to take place. Planting season usually begins around the beginning or middle of the month of May. This process often leaves me with little time to do other activities or projects that I have
