A3. How can employees position themselves vis-à-vis the expectations of HR managers?
Employees can position themselves in a way that results in a situation where both employees and a company can benefit from each. It will also help the employees to gain better recognition in the company and also create more chances to be head hunted by external recruiters for critical positions in the industry. Firstly, the most important task for any company is to imbibe its core values and principles in each employee. From employee’s perspective, it means that they should believe in the core values, code of conduct and principles which are followed in the company, and act in company related matters based on these values and principles. It is very important to be critical and give constant constructive feedback on whatever level possible in the organization.
As quoted by Winston Churchill: “Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfills the same function as pain in the human body. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things.”
Organizations are always hunting for the employees who can challenge their current way of working and can bring and drive a change that improves the efficiency within the company. There are various feedback systems which each company has implemented for this sole purpose, to continuously drive improvement in their business and way of conducting business. Therefore, it is very important to be critical and give constant constructive feedback to the managers on how can things be made better around for the business.
