Explain How Different Areas Of Development May Affect Children And Young People's Development

If a chid was to suffer with a disability then several areas of their development maybe affected at any one time, but if these was to be caught early then there will be different types of support that will be available to the child to help minimise the effects of that disability. Children that suffer some a physical or mental disability may find it harder to learn then other children their age, because of this they may need to have support that can help them catch up with their development. Some of this support can include things like different ways of teaching, additional help from another adult when at school, or the use of a specialised or adapted piece of equipment such as a computer or writing desk. Some the difficulties that a child could face if they suffer from a physical or mental disability could be sensory difficulties, behavioural problems, problems with thinking and understanding and how to relate to and behave around other people. This can lead to many of the different areas of development to be affected, for example they might not want to try out new tasks and have a lack of motivation when it comes to activities and playing. For example this will affect there emotional development because they may feel that they are not cared for and they will not want to make bond with other people such as there peers or friends at nursery. Low confidence will also affect this as they may not have the confidence to want to talk to their peers to help make a friendship. This may also affect their physical development because if they have a lack of motivations because of not being settled or having good attachments then they may not move around as much and they mays it down for most of the day in the same place playing with the same
