Women in combat In the article, “Military women in Combat: Why making it official matters” composed by Jena McGregor, the author clearly makes a strong stance regarding women in the military. One point being, that at least 14,00 new jobs were made unrestricted, while 250,00 jobs in the military still remain restricted to men only. The main point in the article is difficult to point out at first , because the author seems to be in favor for women’s advancement in the military without combat and gives example to support her argument.…

Over the past few years technology has changed and had significant impact on the way we live. Almost everyone has a smart phone, regardless of age or social status. We text and email instead of talk, because it faster and convenient. We can rent movies with a click of the button and stream it to our device or home. Everything is based on internet and although prices aren’t cheap, everyone can afford something that suits their budget. I have also noticed that our textbook uses bar scan, assuming that everyone has a smart phone to retrieve it. Tablets, which are like mini computers, absolutely took over the market. Even small children know how to operate them. They are easy to use, convenient and have all the things needed in one place. You are able to connect to people from all over the world in seconds. Not only you can hear them, but you can also see them. Things that seemed to be impossible a few years back now are only one click of a button away. The cars are equipped in road maps and phone systems, so it makes our driving more safe and helpful. We probably think it can’t get any better, but we are almost guaranteed to be introduced to a new phenomenon at least once every few months.…

Around the world, countries have already enlisted women into their ranks although several countries, including Britain still do not allow women on their frontlines. In Britain women are still excluded from primary combat. Following this line of argument this means that although women make up 12% of the armed forces and around 600 women are serving in Afganistan, none of these women are allowed to serve in the Infantry, Royal Marines, SAS or on submarines, niether are they allowed to drive tanks or minesweepers. Shocking isn’t it?…

Technology seems to be making a huge impact on our lives every day. The internet has everything you need to know and more. There’s search engines that can help you do your shopping, there’s games, there’s chat rooms and also recourses to help yourself out in schooling needs. However I do see how it has been taking over our world. In the story “Y2K CHATRM43” Adrein talks about how Joel spends way to much time on the computer and thinks it’s useless, however Joel sees it differently. In this story I agree with Joel, there’s so much to do on the Internet, it can be very helpful for social needs and for schooling needs. Chat groups can be used to help you out in school. Having that can help you out with understanding school work and what not. The internet is also helpful with school because teachers can put the assignments online so we can access them. Online books help out a lot also instead of having to carry that huge text book home you’ve got it all right there in front of you online. Another reason I feel as if the internet is very useful is because there’s videos online that explain school work and certain subjects. If your teacher doesn’t explain the assignment good enough for you, theres online videos that can help you get a better understanding. They say in the future all schooling will be online, all kids will have their own computers to do their work and there won’t be teacher lectures anymore! What will the future bring?…

This will lead to dramatic increases of productivity in the economy; it is getting more money from successful men as well as successful women concerning consumerism. Entrepreneurs are also very important because of the fact that they are the people who create jobs to bring more money through an economy to keep it stable.…

Technology has changed dramatically though time, for the better, and for the worst. When the first phone was made, it wasn't made for moving around. But then as the phone evolved, it was made about the size of a brick, but it was portable. Then it kept getting smaller and smaller. Now it has gotten bigger, but thinner. One drop and the whole phone could smash. I don’t know why people would want a phone like that?…

Women who are serving in battle are still waiting to be recognized for their dedication and hard work while at the same time facing different issues, such as domestic violence and sexual harassment. Actually, military women constitute almost one-sixth of the armed forces and more than 80 percent of military jobs are now open for women. Although these positions are available to be performed by women, they are kept out of the battlefield. “The Department of Defense moved in 1994 to ban women from serving in “combat operation” such as the short- range field artillery, Special Forces, and infantry”(Ginty, 2011). The lack of opportunities for women working in the field to demonstrate to the military members that they were allowed to work in…

January 2013. The U.S Secretary of Defense, Leon Panetta, announces the pentagon will lift the ban on women serving in “roughly a quarter-million jobs involving combat.” (Thompson) Along with the U.S, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Sweden, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Eritrea, North Korea, and Israel officially allow women in military combat roles. (Fisher) It might take time for the U.S, who recently implemented this policy, to form a truly gender-integrated military were double standards don’t exist and were military testing is gender-blind. However, it has taken the first step toward the creation of a gender-equal society, and it’s an example for other countries that face the…

For example, in Italy and Japan men employment rates are more than 20 percentage points higher and women’s employment rate is still below 50%. On average, women still earn significantly less than men and are a minority in top management.…
