Music has been around since the beginning of time. Many artists express themselves by writing songs to convey emotions, tell fictional stories, or to share their own experiences. The human mind attaches many senses and feelings to melodies; they are tied to moments in life. Everyone feels the same emotions even though people are all different and unique. Songs are written about all sorts of feelings such as happiness, sadness, angriness, and sorrow. For example, if a person is having a bad day he can find a song relating to how he is feeling. Country music is everywhere, whether it comes from a truck stereo, blaring from a bar room, or a young kid upstairs singing in hopes of one day becoming the next big thing in music. Coming from similar backgrounds to the start of their careers, Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert share the same kind of love and passion for country music, which shows through their accomplishments and the mark they made through music industry.…
My identity is music. Music is an open window into which we are. One only has to look through this window to see our moods, personality, and our hopes and dreams. When looking through this open window, I see myself caught in waves of sorrow in my own life. In between the phrases of music, my life is being told.…
There is such a wide range of what can be considered alternative music, which is another reason why I love it so much. The spectrum can start anywhere from Keaton Henson or Vance Joy, to the Civil Wars, David Bowie, and Hozier. Even within those artists lies hundreds of different styles, such as with Keaton Henson. His music can range from soft, sad melodies, to loud, angry lyrics, scratching its way from his throat. With country music, that spectrum is diminishes immensely. All country music sounds the same, making it difficult to decipher which artist is singing, especially with their southern…

As a young child, I tended to become ill often. The doctors blamed my weak immune system on the fact that I contracted mononucleosis and was hospitalized for two months at a young age. The consensus was that over time my immune system would improve and I would outgrow any other issues. I continued to get very ill with bleeding sores constantly lining my mouth and throat throughout my elementary schooling. I noticed my condition was drastically worsening as I ended my sophomore year of highschool. I entered my junior year chronically ill. I missed over thirty percent of the year due to being so ill. I went almost all of junior year teaching myself the information my peers were able to learn in class. I became so physically tired that even getting out of bed was exhausting. I was living with such pain that my parents decided to seek the top…
