Explain The Five Cognate Strategies
Below are the five cognate strategies found and selected from nine others in chapter 4.
Clarity: It is the degree at which a written or spoken information is easily understood without any confusion. Such may be a written article or a speech to specific audience, expressed in simple fluent perfect grammar without jargons, intended for perfect understanding.
An example on how I used this strategy in the past is the information I wrote to a kindergarten head mistress last year, stating how an impromptu visit will affect our part time job agreement. Tones may be high, low, strong or weak, depending on the purpose and intention at which the source wants the receiver to get the info. Most often, high tone goes with anger or intending for the audience to rightly get the message, but it doesn’t holds true at all instances because anger can also be expressed in low hard tone.
An example on how I used this strategy in the past is when I used a calm low tone is expressing gratitude to my parents and friends during my last birthday party. Some pieces of the words were: “Beloved parents, dear friends, brothers and sisters. I really wish my heart breaks open for you to see the joy within me and how grateful I am to my parents and you, gathered here today to give me a successful cheer. You are the source of my joy. Accept my warm regards”.

I was charged to work at the human resource department and I constantly reminded all staff at all weekly meetings within that three months, about an important aspect concerning the department.
