Explain The Main Conflict In The True Confessions Of Charlotte Doyle
In the novel The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle by Avi the main conflict in this book is that Charlotte does not know who to trust. The crew is sketchy and so is the captain. I think this because on page 38-39 Zachariah told Charlotte “The captain punished Mr. Cranick. Punished him hard. Mr.Cranick has but one arm now.” This made Charlotte have confusing emotions about both Zachariah and Captain Jaggery. Especially that Zachariah gave her the dirk [The knife] to protect herself she is now scared of what will happen and that they want revenge. This relates to the theme because the dirk scares her and could trust the wrong person then hurt someone that was good. Another reason this is the main conflict because since they all want revenge
