Explain The Six Core Values Of Social Work
The six core values of social work include: service, social justice, dignity and worth of a person, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence. Service means giving back to the community but it also encompasses lending a helping hand to anyone who reaches out for help. Social Justice is standing up for things in your community that you believe are unjust. When looking at dignity and worth of a person I always think of the Dr. Suess quote “a persons a person no matter how small” everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity and no person should every question their worth because of another person. We learn from psychology that in order to fully develop as a functional person we need to have interaction with others.
