Explain The Three Major Components Of Dna Nucleotide Monomers
DNA is the primary genetic material that makes each individual different. DNA is the molecule that makes up chromosomes each pair of chromosomes contains DNA from one parent. DNA is found in the nuclei of eukaryotic cells and prokaryotic cells in living organisms. DNA is so important it is unable to leave the nucleus therefore the body makes RNA to carry information out into the cytoplasm. The three major components of DNA nucleotide monomers are phosphate, 5 carbon ring sugar (de-oxyribose) and a nitrogenous base. The orientation of the sugar determines the direction of the polynucleotide; each nucleotide is bonded between the phosphate group and the sugar by phosphodiester bonds from either the fifth carbon atom to the third carbon atom direction
