I surveyed 41 students asking them how they preferred to learn.
As it can be seen on the graph, 14 out of the 41 students that were surveyed, preferred to learn from “hands on activities”, 10 out of the 41 students surveyed preferred to learn visually, 7 out of the 41 students surveyed, preferred to learn by note taking, 1 out of the 41 students that were surveyed, preferred to learn auditorily.
The students that told me that they preferred to learn from “hands on activities” was because they believed that learning from “hands on activities” is easier to implement learning. Whereas, the students who said that they preferred to learn visually believe that it helps them understand and break down information they wouldn't be able to comprehend, and to help them store vital information in their long term memory. Those students that prefer to learn by note taking told me that by taking notes helped them summarize the information and helped them break down information that they couldn’t quite comprehend. I also surveyed a few teachers that also believed that students learn better from “hands on activities”. Some teachers prefer to do labs and projects to help students get a better understanding of the topic that they are learning.
“Mrs. McDonald,” one of the few teachers that I had surveyed, told me that she believed that “hands on activities” is the best way for her students to capture the concept of the general understanding of the topic that students are being taught. However, others believe that how a student takes in the information should be the way that specific teacher teaches
