Explain Why Did Christopher Columbus Landed In The Americas
The Spanish in October 1492, Christopher Columbus, landed in the Americas on accident. Columbus was on a voyage, sponsored by Spain, to find a quicker route to the Indies. Columbus landed in the Caribbean’s and searched for valuable treasure to return to his sponsors, but did not find much. Columbus encountered the Taino Indians and saw that they lived in villages and they have a government. The Taino Indians also saw that the can grow pineapple, peppers, peanuts, and tobacco and they would trade with the mainland. When the Spaniard started to arrive the Taino Indians encountered the Eurasian diseases and violence that dropped the population of the Taino Indians. In 1517 Cortez landed in the Yucatan Peninsula and Cortez and his men encountered
