All electronics should be locked up by 9pm weeknights so your children are not able to access them because it is bad for their health and sleep patterns. Children need their sleep to ensure they are awake and also to function and learn at school. Being on your electronics for long periods of time can damage your brain, affects your eyes and disrupts your sleeping patterns.
Firstly children who spend a lot of time on electronics are often moody, implosive and can’t pay attention. Sometimes screen time can become indicting and you can start to crave looking at the electronic, the craving is similar to drug cravings. So much screen time can cause gray matter atrophy; the loss is mainly in the front lobe of your head. The loss of gray matter can cause more violent behavior. White matter also dies, which is a bad thing because white matter connects the brain to the body and it also may slow down your signals.

Also, it strains your eyes when you use electronics at night because the bright light and the dark put more strain on your eyes. A good method is after every 20 minutes on electronics look up at something in the distance for 20 seconds and just repeat that. When on a screen you blinking per minute deteriorate by half, when it’s normally 15-20 times per minute; it can also dry your eyes out.
