I get my work done on time and make sure it is finished to best of my abilities. I desire this scholarship because I would like to prove to myself and my family that I am capable of going off to college and being successful. I need this scholarship because it will help me pay for college. Paying for college is never easy and this scholarship will definitely help me out and make paying for college easier. I need every scholarship I can get to help pay for college and make it a better experience and not having to worry about payments for college tuition and books. 2. My most important accomplishment would have to be the last year in 2015 which was The Cimarron Bluejay Invitational Tournament. I participated in the three-point contest and won. I felt so alive and also felt accomplished. I went into the contest not really expecting to win and I did. Everybody's eyes were fixated on me and at that point, everybody knew who I was. This was also my first time participating in it and I succeeded.

Participating in Basketball has really changed my life for the better. I have learned how to be on time for appointments and having a coach that pushes us to do the best we can, he has taught me to always give 100 percent on anything that I do. This has also helped me to make the right decisions. Such as getting my homework done before the next day of school, because knowing that I have practice later in the evening, I have to get it done before I go. Participating in Basketball and school clubs has taught me that people are always dependant on you to do what is being asked of you. If I do not show that I am responsible for these extracurricular activities, this shows that I can not be trusted, but by being in these activities it taught me to be responsible for the activities that I perform

Basketball was the extracurricular activity that has most meaningful to me. Basketball was the first sport i every played when i was younger and started to play organized basketball when i was in 7th grade. Being over weigh, tall, and a one handing shoo landed me as starter center. I tried hard not giving up, eventually losing the extra weight and playing all four years at Aerospace. Being part of the basketball clique in high school helped me learn the intrapersonal and social communication skills I use today. As a child playing basketball was my favorite activity or hobby. It's also the way I met a lot of my good friends that I have now. All my close friends I have met. I have met them through playing basketball. Whether they were on my team, the opposing team or just fans in the crowd who admired my play. Not only has basketball helped me gain friends, but basketball also taught me a lot about life. There are many aspects of life that coincide with basketball. For instance basketball is a team game and an individual game. Like in life you have to work together with other people. The communication skills I learned from basketball helped me communicate with friends, girlfriends, parents and bosses at work. I started playing basketball in the ninth grade. In the ninth grade I was a quiet and shy little boy. I rarely talked to my teammates and kept to myself. As the years went by I learned how to communicate with my teammates and my coaches and began to break out of my shell so to speak. In 11th grade I made the Long Island top 40 team. In the All-Star game I was named most valuable player scoring 15 points. AAU became a tremendous part of my life. I traveled to several states and began to train with one of the best trainers on Long Island, Jerry Powell. I started making more and more friends while playing AAU basketball. Basketball helped me meet a lot of new people. Without basketball in my life I don't know what I would do, growing up in a tough neighborhood in New York. My journey began in ninth grade. I remember my first day of basketball tryouts like it was yesterday. Fearful anxiety coursed through my blood stream as my pounding heart beat like a drum through my chest. Tireless sweat and preparation leading only to self doubt. I would not make it, I could not make it, and I had no right! I felt slow and unable to stand up my feeble body…
