One reason I believe that “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost is about making choices is because in stanza one he states that he had to make a choice between two roads. “Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both,” (Frost 1-2). This line means that there were two roads that were separated and he is sorry that he could not travel both. In line one, the word “roads” is used to symbolize two choices. The second line talks about how he could not make both choices he had to pick one even if he wanted to make both. “Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back” (Frost 14-15). In these lines he states that, knowing how one thing leads to another he doesn’t know if he will be able to come back and see where the other choice would have taken him. This supports my opinion on the theme because he knows that making this choice will affect his life because it would just lead him to another choice and then another meaning that he won’t be able to come back and see where the other road would've taken him.
