DEVELOPING PRODUCT-IDENTIFICATION AND ASCERTAINING ITS DEMAND IN METROPOLITAN CITIES OF INDIA INTRODUCTION
1.0 Background & Need of the Problem
Most of the schools in big Indian cities start functioning at 7.30 -8.00 in the morning and work up to 1.30 -2.00 p.m. with some variation in some day schools. This range of timings in double-shift schools is still less. For reaching the school on time, children have to leave much earlier from their residence. When they are getting ready to go for school, their parents are also on their toes to remind them about the books & notebooks to be taken to school, to see that their uniform, shoes, etc. are in order and besides that, they have to prepare their breakfast and pack their tiffin. There is a gap of about 4 hours when the food is packed and when it is consumed. The general impression is that they do not enjoy eating out of packed tiffin which becomes cold and soggy. Many children come to school without the food-tiffin. They depend on what is available in the school canteen which, usually, sells chips, burgers, pizzas. Pakoras and other junk food. These items are not good for their health, if taken on continuous basis. A question arises if it is possible for the parents or for the school canteen to serve them with some snacks which are nutritious, tasty and their freshness remains intact. The project team had been thinking on this issue since long. The team-members came out with an idea of a set of nourishing cookies which may be packed in the tiffin conveniently or may be supplied through the school canteen. The packet of these cookies may serve equally well for the office goers or those engaged in any other occupation who during a short break would like to munch the cookies with tea or some other beverage. The family members themselves will enjoy these delicious cookies and may serve the same to their guests also.

Teachers can encourage students to bring healthy snacks and lunch to school. To promote this, the teacher can create programs to ensure students are eating healthy nutritious foods whilst at school. An example, allocating particular days to a particular healthy snack such as, on Fridays we will bring fruit for ‘Fruit Friday’. Each child will then bring their desired piece of fruit that day, or ‘Yoghurt Tuesday”. This could be a fun way of encouraging students to bring healthy foods in their lunchboxes. Rewarding children when they eat healthy encourages them also, to continue with these healthy eating habits. The teacher could make a rule that if everyone has their fruit on Friday or yoghurt on Tuesday, they can be rewarded with an activity they enjoy, involving physical movements, for 15mins afterwards as their reward. Teachers can also help to encourage healthy foods in canteens and tuckshops. Replacing foods and drinks which are high in sugar, fatty, unhealthy and have no nutritional value such as chips, soft drink, pastries, lollies with foods low in sugar, less fat and have more nutritional value like, milk, yoghurt, fruit, vegetables and fish. This can help with children’s diet and health. “School canteens can be a major source of food for children and young people. Canteens that only sell healthy and nutritious food encourage good eating habits and can improve the diet of…

The death penalty, also called capital punishment, has been seriously debated for many years. There are a lot of people who are against the death penalty, including myself, but there are also some who are for it. An article on Death Penalty Curriculum reports all of the reasons why they believe that execution is effective, while an article by Jayashree Pakhare says the death penalty ought to be banned. I also consider capital punishment to be cruel, and I don’t feel that it is necessary.…

I’ve been dreaming about traveling the world with an adventure-job-style approach. Creating life experiences that sparks both my physical and intellectual growth. That is where the question “What is your ultimate career goal?” remains unanswered. When I think about a career that is based on traveling, I image work as a Nurse, Tourist, or Travel Agent. I myself feel that I do not fall into any of those categories.…
