Children exposed to violence than children not exposed are more likely to become victims or perpetrators of future violence ("Children's Exposure to Violence"). There are lots and lots of violence in the book there’s a part in the book where Amy, the wife, talks about the scene where she kills Desi. “Police have been dispatched to Desi’s home, where they’ll find him naked and drained, a stunned look on his face, a few strands of my hair in his clutches, the bed soaked in blood. The knife I used on him, and my bonds, will be near the floor where I dropped it, dazed, and walked barefoot, carrying nothing out of the house but his keys.” (375). In an interview, Flynn talks about how she tried to create the perfect psycho bitch. ("Gillian Flynn on Gone Girl | Interview”). Which she proves she did indeed create one in the book. I don’t think this type of violence should be presented to high schoolers or any grade level through a school library. People may not agree with me about banning the book just because of how the book is set up. Gone girl is told by two people, Amy and Nick. Nick tells the story through his eyes and is more in the present where Amy is more seen through her diary. This may be a great learning experience for kids to see different types of ways stories are told but they could see that in many other books. Overall I think it would be a great idea to banned this book from our library just because of how violent and sexual
