Abstract
Medicinal marijuana can benefit more Americans, if regulated like alcohol and tobacco, as a taxable source of income for the Government and states. That is the query that this essay attempts to answer, exploring the early life of cannabis in this country; examining the relationship between the government and marijuana, the science in marijuana, and focusing on the economics of how legalized medical marijuana taxes can help the federal government and the states. In this essay, it will be seen why earlier attempts to outlaw marijuana paid off. Then analyze the effect prohibition has on the government, as well as the science and economic benefits of cannabis. The conclusion drawn is that, as a legal product, the taxes made off cannabis could benefit the government and states greatly. Not only can medical cannabis be of great use to patients with medical conditions, but the revenue made by taxes would go to the government to use to assist people in the communities with construction and education.
Medicinal marijuana can benefit more Americans, if regulated like alcohol and tobacco, as a taxable source of income for the Government and states.
