F. Sebastian Arulanndam Analysis
I join all of you – His grace Victor Henry, Emeritus Archbishop, Rev. Fathers and sisters - to congratulate all our Silver Jubilee fathers. They deserve our praise, admiration, and more, they also need our on-going support, wishes and prayers. Congratulations, Fathers.
“Trusting in the Lord with all his heart, and acknowledging him in all his ways …he never counted himself wise in his own eyes….” That is Fr.Sebastian Arulanndam, a near rendition of Pro.3:5 -7.

I thank His Grace, Victor Henry for offering me this opportunity to appreciate and wish Fr.Sebastian Arulanandam , fondly called ‘Seby’ by his close friends..

Fr.Seby’s silver jubilee celebrations began in the year 2012, November, AD. Since then, Father Sebastian is having a series

But Fr.Sebi at Amsena went after 99 sheep who were totally lost and disappeared. He had only one family attending his Sunday mass.
He started a partial boarding and a coaching centre for Amsena children. Impressed with his hard work and dedication, Emeritus archbishop approved a full-pledged school and a new presbytery for him.
And more, Fr.Sebastian was appointed as dean of Raipur deanery before he was shifted to Rajnandagaon to become its parish priest and the manager of Weidner memorial School. I’m at a loss to describe the multifaceted, and the omni-competent personality of Fr.Seby. He is like Yuvraj singh or Jadeja of Indian cricket team – an all-rounder. He can easily change a tyre or repair a jeep as he can competently look after a parish, manage a school or a technical institute, and assume any responsibility that Diocese can think of.
He is not flashy, showy, or addicted to publicity but a simple, modest, practical priest, faithful to his priestly duties.
I quote a parable to sum up the personality of Fr.Seby:
Once the sea was asked, “why are you called ‘the king of the rivers’ and how it is that all the high and violent rivers of the world come up to you, empty their waters into you and simply

St. Benedict is well known for his occasions of performing miracles and for his life dedicated to Christ. St. Benedict founded his own monastery and wrote The Rule of St. Benedict, which was not heavily practiced until after death. Although The Rule was written originally in latin and holds guidelines for monks, it could also be generally used for all Christians. The Rule also pays very close attention to the role of the abbot, who is the person is in charge of the monstrary. The laity's primary vocation is the call to holiness. This universal vocation is to be lived out in union with the whole Church. Therefore, as the laity are becoming more prepared today than ever before for the work of evangelization, it is important that there be great collaboration and unity between the ordained ministers, the consecrated ministers and the lay ministers of the Church. Prayer, maturity, and spiritual zeal for the salvation of souls are required to put aside any differences of opinions or personalities that can surface when various people are seeking the will of God through their…

(Investigating Religions Textbook, 2009, pg. 26-27). The Mount Alvernia Diamond Jubilee Mass was held in the San Damiano Centre on Thursday the 11th of February, to symbolize the 60th Anniversary of Mount Alvernia College opening. Within this divergent mass, one person played the role of the leader or expert. This person was the Arch Bishop. Mount Alvernia students, teachers, parents, Padua College Representatives, Saint Anthony Representatives, MFIC Sisters and Franciscan Fryers also attended this significant mass. This mass had a distinctive order of the ritual which consisted of three rites: Entrance rite, liturgy of the word, liturgy of the Eucharist, communion rite and concluding rite. To assist the ritual, symbols are used to show meaning in the mass. Some of these symbols include the chalice, alter cloth, San Damiano Cross, Eucharist and the mitre. The transforming power of the ritual allows the participants to partake in a ritual that only happens once a year and gives the believers a chance to reflect on the Mount Alvernia College…
