Maybe you don't know what you want from life, but we all know we want to be successful. As I oscillated between a few high schools I knew I wanted to leave a mark on the world, because being known is amazing. I know how to get it, I know what I have to do to get it, and I know where I needed to be to get it. I decided to attend BCTHS after my amble tour through the building. At that point I believed it would make me successful, and I knew I could endure this challenge on my own. I knew that there will be competition, but I also knew that I will still be successful. Success to me means going to a great college, and one day be well known for the creativity in my art and photography. I wanted to start ahead of the competition, and I knew I couldn't do this unless I attend BCTHS, especially when my two favorite career classes are dovetailed as one.…

Growing up, I have always struggled in school, the work and the classes never interested me. I never had the freedom I wanted to broaden my abilities. I’m the student who always told herself, “just 180 days to go, just suck it up and get it over with”, and currently, that is what I am doing. But now, as a senior in high school, I finally get the freedom I have been longing for to do and achieve what I want with my life. The first step, picking a school that’s going to be right for me, a school that’s going to give me the tools I need to be the best I can be, and now after typing that, it sounds really cliché, but it’s true. The Fashion Institute of Technology is my key to the life I want. While it can offer me with possibly the best experience of my life, I can offer it an open mind to anything and everything.…

I was introduced to Pratt. Through my Elementary school art teacher, Ms.Johnson, who had recommended my mom to look into applying me to Saturday Art School at Pratt, from then on, Pratt became my home. I have taken nearly 8 years of Saturday Art School then was introduced to a true honor in being in the first class of a brand new program at the time, Pratt Young Scholars, marking up about 17 consecutive semesters of Pratt courses, courses in which I have taken during my Elementary, Middle and High School years. My high school teachers have left an everlasting effect on me, these teachers being Sarah Holcomb, Carlos Rosado and Spy Kontarinas. Each and everyone inspiring me to the very best I can, and even inspiring me to consider art education as a potential career for myself, their teaching methods have inspired me and I have created my best works whilst under the pressure of deadlines they have set and the standards I set, particularly high ones.…

This fall, I will be applying to colleges, where I hope to dual major in Visual Arts and Renaissance and Early Modern Studies or Art History. Thereafter, I hope to pursue a career that surrounds me with art and continues to inspire my own artistic expression. From early on, I was infatuated with history and museums. Art is not just a passion of mine, but an extension of who I am. I find that I bring art to most everything I do. At school, in addition to being the founding member of the Classics Club, I am a leading member of the Art Club, an art contributor to the school magazine, and I serve as art/design coordinator for my high school's award-winning FIRST Robotics team. I even bring my art to my varsity swimming team, where I designed team…
