An example of cyber bullying includes two sixteen year old girls who made up a fake profile of a fifteen year old girl. They were arrested on charges of cyber bullying. With the new Facebook profile, they posted obscene photos and comments on it. Some photos included photoshopped ones of the girl being naked. They also posted appalling comments on the profile such as: "As you may know, I am a huge whore. I love d*** so much." (Bates). This is just one of thousands and thousands of cyber bullying cases. Privacy invasion is when something a person wants to keep to themselves or something they don't want other people knowing is found out without their consent. It can work in the opposite way too. If people were to have a photo taken of them and they were doing something with negative connotation and it was posted on Facebook and they were tagged in it, depending on their privacy settings, not only can their friends see it, but also the friends of their friends. Also, now on Facebook there is a live news feed constantly updating with posts from all of the people on a person's friends list even if it is towards someone they do not even know, depending on their privacy settings. This means someone whom they have never met in their life could be looking at their personal information without them even knowing. This causes an effect on one's emotional state by attacking their willing to trust.
