FACTORS TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING A UNIVERSITY Many people around the world have dreams of becoming a very well known person around the world. Many people want to be doctors, engineers, lawyers, etc. For many of these dreams, we would need post-secondary education. More than 50% of the jobs in the world need post-secondary education. If someone wants to be a doctor, engineer, or a lawyer, or some other world renowned profession, he/she would need to go to university. When choosing a university, many families consider many things but this essay will explain the top two ideas that are considered and that would be the proximity, and the prestige. One of the biggest ideas that are considered when applying to a university is the proximity of their house. Many people like to study close to home so that they can see their family every day and they wouldn’t have to pay for residence and meal plan. Many people get home sick when staying away from their families because the students are sharing rooms with unknown people. The students would also get more fat because of food that is served under the meal plan. Some students get stressed because they don’t know where they can get help when they need it. They only know how to get help from their parents. When looking from a parent’s point of view, it is stressful for them because the parent does not know what their kid is doing at university whether if the student is passing or not. Many of the parents arrange with their kid to come home every weekend just to touch base and see what is happening but, the parents still don’t know what is happening. Many of the parents would get depressed because of the student. It is natural for a parent to worry about what the child is doing but when it comes to making their child live by him / herself in university, some worry too much. Therefore, one of the factors to consider when choosing a university is the proximity of the house. Another idea that many people consider
