Since factories kept on building they needed more people to work in the factories and a lot of people were willing to work, the factory owner could set wages so low because people were willing to do the work as long as the worker got their money. The worker worked for long working hours with working hours up to sixteen hours a day for six days. And there were a lot of unskilled workers which received very little only about 8 dollars a week, working for a few cents an hour which are sad because they work so hard. If men and women had the same jobs the women will usually get paid less.Because these people are working long and hard hours and getting paid very little was the reason why a lot of people became very poor.
In the factories, there was so little light, the only light sources the factory had was the sunlight from the windows. Some machines were horrible they had black smoke coming from them and at the end of the day when the workers come out, their whole body would be cover in black soot. There was so many machines with very little safety rules. This meant that there were so many accidents and And there were kids that would fix the machine while it was still running thus this could lead to an injury. The worker had only 2 breaks lunch and dinner
