The tittle of the book is Fade by Lisa McMann. The main character is Janie. Janie is in her senior year and is going out with a boy named Cable. Cable is one of the main characters as well. The main problem in the story is that there is a sexual predator at Fieldridge High. Captain needs a volunteer to scope out the sexual predator. The job could be risky because nobody in Fieldridge High is talking. The problem in the book causes Janie to make decision. The decision affects many characters in the book and there are many reasonable arguments against and for the decision made.
The critical decision made was that Janie, the main character, chose to take the job of spotting out the sexual predator in Fieldridge High. There may be many consequences due to the decision made by Janie. Janie is an independent senior in high school. She isn’t used to people caring for her; she’s used to being on her own. Janie is also very secretive. Janie is secretive because if people found out her secret they would think that she’s crazy. Janie’s secret is that she can go into other people’s dreams. Janie made this decision because she wanted to prove that she could be important for once. She also wanted to show Cable that she can be successful in doing dangerous things such as scoping out a sexual predator. “Right. Only you are allowed to do something dangerous. Jeez, Cabe. It’s really not your decision” (Page 15).
The decision made by Janie affected many people. The main person the decision affected was Cable. The decision affected Cable because Cable loves Janie and he doesn’t want her to get hurt. Because Cable loves her, he has become more protective with Janie. The decision affected Cable more mentally and emotionally. Cable Also doesn’t want to share Janie with another man even if it scopes out a scandal. “Mentally? Emotionally? It’ll be harder on him. Because this love thing is foreign to Cable. And now that he has found Janie, he’s becoming increasingly protective of her. There is no man in the universe he wants to have to share with her. Especially a creep” (page 25).
There are many reasonable arguments against and for the decision that made. One presentable reason against the decision is that Janie may get hurt. She can also get raped or even worse possibly killed. “You could get hurt. Raped. My God…” (Page 23). Even though Janie will get backup from Captain and the police force there is a possibility of getting hurt. She may get hurt because the sexual predator is unknown and may be anyone.
The problem in the book causes Janie to make a decision. The decision affects many characters in the book and there many reasonable arguments against and for the decision made. The tittle of the book is Fade by Lisa McMann. The main character is Janie. The critical decision made was that Janie, the main character, chose to take the job of spotting out the sexual predator in Fieldridge High. The effect is Janie winds up being drugged but she finds the sexual predator. The decision was a sound decision. It was sound because Janie had backup from Captain and the rest of the police force.

In the book The Leaving, I think the author, Tara Alterbrando, was trying to get the point across not to trust everyone you meet and to be aware of your surroundings. In this book, 6 kindergarteners were abducted and only 5 of them returned 11 years later with no memory of what happened to them. It turns out that their principal along with a scientist took them and tried to erase their memory of a school shooting. The experiment ended up lasting longer than expected and they had to keep the kids for 11 more years. People shouldn’t have trusted the principal and should’ve been paying more attention and been aware of the kids.…

Fade is an interesting novel, and can be quite confusing at times. The book starts off with the main character, Paul Moreaux living in his hometown "Frenchtown" he always called it, in Massachusetts. The book takes place somewhere in the 1920's. Paul lives a normal but poor life, when he finds out that he has the ability to "fade", which is the ability to disappear or become invisible. The ability is passed on from an uncle in the family to a nephew, and Paul's uncle Abelard teaches it to him. Once he starts to use this new ability, bad things start to happen. He catches people doing bad stuff and does bad things himself, and he tries to cope with it. He vows never to use the fade again when his brother Bernard dies partially because of him. Unexpectantly I find that the book is divided up into different sections, the next one called "Susan". This part takes place in the future, when Paul is dead. Susan is a writer, and Paul was a famous writer when he lived, and Susan is inspired by him. She comes across a manuscript, which in fact was the story that was the first part of the book. Susan reads it and tries to decipher whether it is truth or fiction, and if it can be published, as an autobiography of Paul. She suspects it is fake because of the fact of the fade. The next part is the next section of the book that Susan later finds, and it is about Paul when he is in his forties. It is just a continuation of his life, and he feels that the next fader is ready, so he goes out to find him. The next fader is named Ozzie, and he discovers the fade on his own, without Paul, and does bad things with it. He came from a bad family; he had a father that abused him. When he discovered the fade he used it to his advantage, killing his father, and hurting and scaring people that had teased him over the years. Paul comes looking for him, and Ozzie encounters him. Ozzie had bad voices in his head, telling him to do the bad things he did, the fade brought it on to him. Ozzie tries…

The story Floating by Karen Brennan is about a woman who can miraculously float. She floats around the house day after day seeming to never leave. Her husband, however, seems completely unimpressed by her ability and sees her as a burden. A burden that he must feed and take care of. It is not long into the story before she finds a baby and brings it into her house. While this is happening another story is being told about a woman who meets Satan, and has a conversation with him in her house. The author intended for all of these events to relate to each other, and also to have some sort of deeper symbolism. The woman who aimlessly floats through the halls of her house does not have a choice, she is trapped. Her and every one else in the story is dead and stuck in Purgatory waiting for their eternal fate to be decided. All of them experiencing death in a different way, the man bitter and mean, the woman and baby oblivious,…
