Books such as Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. In Bradbury's novel he shows many examples of oppression. However the fight or struggle for freedom can be seen when Granger says “We’re going to build a mirror factory first and put out nothing but mirrors for the next year and take a long look at them” (Bradbury 164). Though it may not be as obvious as the example before it Montag and his group are fighting against their oppression. They are doing this by using knowledge and remembering. For example when Kennedy says in his speech “Martin Luther King dedicated his life to his love and for the justice of his fellow human beings, and he died because of this effort” (Kennedy 1). This quote shows how you can not achieve peace without pain. Martin Luther King never sat around and waited for freedom to come to him. He fought and demanded for it. If not for him struggling and fighting for equal rights we might not have the civil rights we do today. This is a central theme we can see in all of these stories. If you want something you have to work and fight for it, only then can you truly achieve
