Conflict is a plays a big part in this book. This book involves human vs. society. Everyone has to live this specific way. For example people who act different than others are considered strange. The major difference in the society in this book is knowledge. People are not allowed to read books. They are not even allowed to own a book. If they do they will be killed and have their books burned. The only types of books that they are allowed to have are comic books. Without the knowledge of knowing what is actually happening in that society is effecting how a person lives. People think its fine to burn books but, don’t understand the real meaning of books. and just want to live a happy life. People think books make
Hernandez 2 people unhappy. Knowledge effects how a person lives their life and how the future lives their life.
The second literary element of this story is figurative language. First of all people who burn books in their society are called firefighters. A firefighter is supposed to stop fires and protect people from them. Many people in that are missing the real meaning of firefighter. The society is missing out on tons of knowledge. More and more people are making it ok to burn books. Imagine how much confusion it would bring if they would see a firefighter taking out fire. The society is raising children in a world of lies. Then a hound is actually an eight legged robot dog.
Those two conflicts have such a main part in this book Fahrenheit 451.
There are tons of other literary elements that can go perfect with this book but, conflict and figurative language are the main elements in the book. Knowledge can effect everything and play a major part in life. Without knowledge we will not be able to grow as generations go by. Nobody will be able to be smart enough to create inventions or ideas to make life better. There shouldn’t be any conflict about how someone living their life. Be different can lead to good new changes. Without knowledge people would not be able to do the routines they do. While knowledge can be boring sometimes and considered “harmful” in the book it can really help life. It would help people understand the world
better.
