In this passage Montag is being searched by the government and hound. Montag flees to Faber’s house to ask for advice. When Montag arrives Faber tells him this quote. In this quote Faber is saying that it is not just the books that contain information but the sources. Some of the sources Faber talks about in the book are records, pictures, friends and nature. This quote is important because Montag really wants to become happy and he believes that the way to do so is by reading books. Beatty goes there because Montag had been feeling sick and missed a day of work. When Beatty is at the home he lectures Montag. He tells him that the society that they live in dislikes individuality and that they feel safer when everyone is alike. The government likes that there is no obstacles or challenges to make one person better than the other. This quote is important because not having intellectuals in a society helps the government brain wash them with their ideas and ways. Having people out of the norm like Clarisse are smarter because they are not brainwashed and view the world differently which makes them not
