Faith Hill’s movie star good looks surely helped her cause, and her much celebrated marriage to fellow country star Tim McGraw gave her a career purists, but she had the star power of a diva even before her pop success.
Faith Hill was born Audrey Faith Perry on September 21, 1967(age 41), in Jackson Mississippi, she was adopted as an infant and raised by a couple in the nearby small town of Star where she grew up. At the age of three she was already singing for her family and first performed publicly at a 4-H luncheon when she was about seven. Faith Hill spent most of her childhood singing whenever the chance came. At age seventeen she formed a band that played local rodeos. At the age of nineteen she quit college and moved to Nashville to make it as a singer. During that time, she was married briefly to music supervisory Dan Hill. In time, she was hired as a secretary at a music publishing firm, where she was discovered by accident while singing to herself one day. Encouraged by company head Gary Morris, Faith Hill became a demo singer foot the firm and also preformed professionally as a harmony vocalist behind the singer, song writer, and producer Gary Burr and Faith Hill’s act at Nashville club, and wound up singing Faith Hill to a solo deal.
