Fake News Can Mess Up The Whole Congress
I believe that fake news is dangerous because it can mess up the whole Congress. It can make a good person not get elected. The person that get picked could be a bad leader. It can cause someone who is elected to get murdered. The murder would be over a lie.
Fake news can ruin someone life. The boss could look up the person he or she hired. Then it could be fake stuff about that person. That can cause them to lose a job. Could ruin someone life. They probably would never meet the opposite gender. They probably could never find a job. They will never have children. Fake news can change a person's mind for something. Could make a person say no to marriage. Could change a vote for anything. It could be fake news about a kid at your school. They could be humiliated and laughed at. Fake news can make a person feel some type a way with someone. Then they will be mad at someone.

Trust me fake news has that juice to it. I know I have read fake news and like it. It caught my attention with their juicy title. Fake news are fiction stories. We all like fiction stories. They can become very interesting at times. Although do people know fake news/stories is fiction. There at least should be bolded words saying this is fake news/story. It is ok to like it , but not all people know it is fake. Fake news can mess up congress. In a big way. It can cause someone to get murdered for fake news. It can change one's mind about about someone. Ruin someone life for lifetime. All over fake news. Do you approve fake news? It can become dangerous. That is why I don't approve fake

Everyone has the right to fact check information that seems out of place. One could go into depth with the news that appears untruthful. Take for example Dan Fagin, author of "Toms River," after hearing about what was happening in Toms River from other journalists and reporters, he decided to proceed further and investigate the issues himself. He wanted to alert the people of Toms River about what was happening in the city; he wanted them to take action and stop whatever was going on. In order for this to happen, Fagin went to the township and collected all the data he needed and saw. Next, while researching the township he discovered that Ciba was producing harmful dyes, such as vat dyes and azo dyes, that produced "colorless, sweet-smelling…

I believe that a newspaper or news source needs to be honest and not have its integrity questioned. If someone is caught outright lying I know I would never trust that person or newspaper so long as that person is still associated with it. I know it sounds drastic but I believe that honesty and reliability are some of the core responsibilities of a newspaper and thus if anyone works there that has questionable traits or is caught outright lying that paper will never be able to come back from that negative image so long as that person is writing for the paper or is involved with the paper at all. Integrity is a core component for writing factual evidence, and outright lying brings into question what the motivations are for the reporter, and not only that, everything that the reporter has written previously will be questioned because if the person has lied for one report what reassurance do the people have for the fact that the reporter has not lied before?…

Zinser then makes the claim that ‘fake’ news causes two vices, the first being deception due to the lack of valuing objectivity in their reports. The second is dilution, both in the quality of media from the variance of online sources as well as adding excessive news reports attracting more viewers to what is typically a hard news source. Zinser also reminds us of the beneficial aspects in ‘fake’ news. Empirical data suggests a trend that either viewers of The Daily Show are better informed than those watching hard news because of its effectiveness, or, on the other hand that it attracts viewers who already know about the current events being discussed, evidence of its success.…

Fake new has been shared worldwide with people since 1769. “In 1769, John Adams gleefully wrote in his diary about spending the evening occupied with "a curious employment. Cooking up Paragraphs, Articles, Occurrences etc. - working the political Engine!"Adams, along with his cousin, Sam, and a handful of other Boston patriots, were planting false and exaggerated stories meant to undermine royal authority in Massachusetts.”(Parkinson) This false news is being shared with the purpose of hoping to hurting someone or something. “It said that American forces had discovered bags containing more than 700 scalps of people living in the country that were taken by Indians who were partnered with King George of…

Readers can be biased and can be swayed by the source of where they get their information. Fagin explained the skepticism people have toward journalists can be derived from fake news reporting and political influences on society. The source of where people get their information has changed, to newspapers to social media, which promotes more accessible fast-fake news. Consequently this results in fewer reporters…

Kenan Malik’s article, All the Fake News That Was Fit to Print, is an argument about fake news. He starts by giving examples of times when fake news has gotten out to the public. Then proceeds to show why fake news is a problem. Malik got his point across well and proved it. He was effective because of his use of history and use of modern day issues. He did fail in some areas as well.…

The editorial by Christopher Moore, there are other examples why Moore is wrong with his claim. One example is, major news networks often have creditable correspondents and guests to explain the news. Another example, is a major one; breaking news is an important part of the news. Satire news like The Daily Show and The Colbert Report is recorded and, like Moore states do not show breaking news. Breaking news like active shooter situations, major bad weather or any other news breaking news is often important to know at the moment instead hours later on a prerecord program. The national news is live and throughout the day has multiple newscasters, that give different thoughts and ideas on the news unlike The Daily Show and The Colbert Report that only have the one host of both TV shows. Events like, major speeches, presidential candidate primaries, and caucus press conferences and many more live programs are all not covered on The Daily Show and The Colbert Report that Moore might count as major news segments. To conclude, satire news like The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are just not a good source for young people, like college students or high school students. A good news satire like The Daily Show and The Colbert Report is only good to view after the viewer watched national news programs and local news instead of only watching satire news only, viewers just not get the whole picture…

This is called yellow journalism and it is used almost daily in newspapers, social media, and news stations. Yellow journalism is used when a story is black and white; news outlets know the story won’t sell so they twist and tweak a few details. The end result is a story the invokes a strong reaction from the public. This is dangerous to the public because citizens are being misinformed about current events occurring in their own country. Citizens deserve to get the truth about every situation happening in their domain. When misinformed about a death, people tend to act out violently and without thought. This behavior is only encouraged when the media reports about the reaction, subtly telling others to join them or fight against them. Yellow journalism is a curse to democracy that leads to chaos and destruction. When the citizens utilize the multiple resources available to them, they would find out the truth of situations. Instead the relay on corrupt media…

The increased amount of news broadcasts and social media being used by our government to force feed us with fake information, has lead for our entire nation to be at a loss of whether or not we can ever trust our elected officials, and their administration again. In light of Donald Trump’s new presidency, many have learned that our government is not forced to tell the “truth,” and as Donald Trump so commonly does, can tell their own constructed “truth.” We have seen this constructed truth thrust upon us so many times, by Trump and his administration, over the frivolous and the important. If live you in America, or are interested in American politics, you most likely have seen the terms “fake news” and “alternate facts.” These terms come straight…

We rely on the news to know what is going on in the world, and we can’t really deny what they tell us because it’s their job to tell us the truth. There have been many mishaps where it has even been caught on television one example was on the news, “Taking her act one step further, this morning she appeared on a suburban street . . . paddling a canoe. There was one small problem. Just as the segment came on the air, two men waded in front of Kosinki . . . and the water barely covered their shoe tops! That's right, Kosinski's canoe was in no more than four to six inches of water!” (Finkelstein 1). If the news decides not to tell the truth even if doesn’t prove their story, what reality is there if they can make up some random story with proof that they didn’t even tell the truth on television. The way that the media has the ability to tell us false stories, proves Plato’s theory, “…and he will be unable to see the realities of which in his former state he had seen the shadows; and then conceive someone saying to him, that what he saw before was an illusion…” (Plato 1). The ‘shadows’ that he saw represent…

Fake news is an alteration of the fact and changing it to what one may like with an intent to destroy the image of an individual, gain popularity and money, and change someone’s thought toward a specific event. It has a devastating effect in both today’s and 1984’s world because when people do not know the truth, they believe in what they read. They are unaware of the reality. This is worse in 1984 than in today’s world because the government has taken away people’s ability to think by having all sorts of controlling methods, such as Thought Police and…

That is the Information that CNN and The New York Times are sending out to us viewers, they are being perfidiousness to us. The news sources are giving us one sided stories that are planned to meet their opinions instead of just putting out the facts and leaving us to interpret it. Studies show that humans are more likely to choose something because they heard of it on the tv or because someone else choose it. This means that CNN and The New York Times have made trap that everyone is walking into. Also 38% of americans watch CNN each day, that’s a big number. Also 88% of people read a New York Times paper each month, meaning that millions of lives are being filled with bias facts making it so the TV is deciding that person's likability and not his actions. What’s worse is that CNN has admitted to making up stories, and being rude to the president. This is a quote from one of CNN’s main editors “Yeah that whole Russia hacking the elections was just a cover up so Hillary didn’t lose so bad”. How angry does that make you feel? Half of the american population believed that only to learn it’s false. What’s worse is that CNN still has bias and hasn’t fixed their problems. Also CNN has admitted to their own pravda. However you can get them to change by watching other news networks who are not bias. This will hit their income hard and force them to change their ways or their news network…

    Obamacare Failure

Media coverage has recently been controlled by the Trump administration, by offering “limited seating” in the briefing rooms, allowing the White House to deliver specific messages to America by only those who have access to the West Wing. Therefore, many social media users who are loyal to those sources, continue delivering mixed or false messages via Facebook, Twitter, and personal blogs (Croteau & Hoynes, 2014). By doing so, the messages have become so convoluted that it becomes difficult to determine what has become widely called “fake news”. For example, Dropp and Nyhan (2017) reported for The New York Times that a poll by the Morning Consult indicated that 35 percent of respondents ages 18 to 29 did not know the ACA and Obamacare were the same. Whether confused, uneducated on the topics, or in denial, people are fed a constructed reality by media when possible, thus perpetuating “fake…

Social media can and has spread fake news. Do you remember Ebola? Many people overreacted and made a big deal out of something minor in the U.S. Fake news can cause a whole country to act up. Lack of knowledge is dangerous too. Look at North Korea, they are under oppression. Also, Amanda Todd got cyber bullied and committed suicide. “Control your own mind, and you may never be controlled by the mind of another,” Napoleon Hill said. This quote is amazing at describing bullying situations.…
