“The Fall of Icarus”
The story of Icarus explains his attempt to escape from Crete by using wings that his father created from feathers and wax. He ignored instructions warning him not to fly too close to the sun, and the melting wax caused him to fall into the sea where he then drowned. There are various paintings for this story, but three artists are highlighted today for their unique design in their painting and views for this story.

Pieter Bruegel’s painting of “The Fall of Icarus” depicts people working, herding sheep, and hunting fish. The city itself seems really busy and congested but it also leads me to believe it can be the city they escaped from. (2) -------------------------------------------------
In Henri Matisse’s painting, he described Icarus flying to the sun, (the yellow things being stars), and the red spot being his wings burning off while he was falling. (3) -------------------------------------------------
In Marc Chagall’s Painting, he showed Icarus falling out of the sky, with his wings burning people gather to watch his fall.

One major difference between these paintings, is that none of the settings are the same, the are all diverse

One major similarity is that they all try to include the sun and stars
