In Argentina it is legal for same sex couples to get married. This was a shock to me because I always thought that most Latin countries were strong in their Catholic faith and would not allow gay marriage to happen. Many Hispanics that I know stress the importance of having a family structure with a mother and a father. In the US same sex couples in many states are still fighting a battle of equality to get married. Also in Argentina is it legal for gay couples to adopt a child. In the US it is hard to adopt if you are not married, so not many gay couples adopt their children. Even though Argentines same sex couples have the right to adopt, it is still a challenge for them.
Watching the documentary I also learned that Argentina is a very developed country. As embarrassing as that sounds I never knew what the cities of Argentina looked like. Looking at the way the cast was dressed I could really see a difference from the way we dress in America. The rooms of their houses that some of the cast was being filmed in looked just how American rooms look.
