proud of who we are and our culture. In the letter it was talking about a kid name Wind Wolf and talking about his experiences in school. Wind Wolf was having a hard time in school because he wasn’t expected in his because of what he was. His family are indians and Wind Wolf was living in a different lifestyle that no one in his school would understand. His father was always telling him to not forget of who he truly is and to be proud of who he’s.
However some may believe individual influence or impact how one views others and the world.
In the personal essay “Us and Them” by David Sedaris, Sedaris said “To say that you did not believe in television was different from saying that you did not care for it. Belief implied that television has a master plan and that you were against it. It also suggested that you thought too much” (73). Individuals say that no one influence them in how they view everyone. The quote is about a boy, Sedaris, who sees a family that doesn’t believe in television and he was telling how it’s really odd and weird why they don’t use television. Sedaris was saying that everyone use television and he was just starting to look bad at the family. When he said about everyone using television, he was talking about his family because he doesn’t have any friends. So Sedaris family’s saw them really different and odd. Technically that means his family influence how he view others and the world. Even though individuals believe the impact or influence how we views other and the world, family will always have a bigger impact to us. In the film Bend it Like Beckham by Chadha, Berges, and Bindra, Jess mother’s said “What family would want a daughter in law who can run around kicking football all day but can’t make round chapatis” (2007). Jess is a indian girl who loves and is passion for football but his family doesn’t accept it. The family say it doesn't support their religion but instead is disrespectful to
their god. Their culture want women to be housewives and usually don't accept other race but themselves. Jess haves to convince to her parents to let her dated a boy who’s white and let her play for a professional soccer team. Her parents always have a big impact of how she should live and she should view people. Nevertheless family will always inform they way one views others and the world. It’s not bad families impact how we see people but people should just accept where they came from. No one change how you are but yourself so choose what to view others. Just remember that family will always have a big factor of how we view everyone.
