While at Florida National University I expect to gain the knowledge and experience to further my career and become a Family Nurse Practitioner. Going back to school is going to help me achieve my goals and fulfill my life long dreams. I hope to learn to manage my time in order to meet deadlines. Lastly to meet colleagues in my career in order to build a professional network.
My reason to return to college is to acquire the experience to improve as a professional and obtain a better future for my family and I. To feel fulfilled with myself, meet my career goals and lifelong dreams. At an early age I was exposed to medicine since my father was a family doctor in Cuba. This made me want to follow in his footsteps and pursue a career in medicine and become a doctor. I did three years of medicine in Cuba but had to leave due to political reasons. I came to this country determined to establish myself in medicine and attended Dade Medical College where I received my Associates of Science degree in Nursing. I decided to attend Florida National University because it is regarded by my peers as one of the best nursing programs in south Florida.
