Family Ties

Even though I lived in three different areas of Akron, moving various times affected my grades because, I changed schools often and moving made me feel unstable growing up. I grew up in North Akron, Ohio but after my Mother and Father divorced we moved from North Akron, to Central Akron, and South Akron. I attended two Elementary Schools, two Junior High Schools, and two High Schools. My grades were an average of C or D unless it was a subject I enjoyed I would earn a B. I did not earn decent grades until my junior year. My Mother decided at the end of my fifth grade year I was not mature enough to go on to the sixth grade so she had me held back, this was devastating for me, I was teased by fellow classmates through-out my time in School. As a teenager I was outgoing, popular and talented. I sang in the School Choir, and I entered the various talent shows. I met two of my Best Friends in the seventh grade, although I knew a lot of people. There was a total of seven of us girls, we were very close from Junior High School until our graduating year in 1988 we lived in the same neighborhood. I moved once again during my sophomore year and attended another High School where I did not know many people. I attended Garfield High School for one Semester, than later convinced my mother to let me go back to my home School, North High School where I later graduated from with all my friends.

Family Ties

Whereas; I maintained employment and later brought my own home, my three daughters given that it was difficult being a single Parent. I became pregnant with my youngest daughter at the age of thirty-five, my oldest daughter was sixteen years old my youngest daughter was ten years old at the time. I did not plan to have another child; the feeling was freighting, and emotional. Under my Physician’s orders, I was put on total bed rest due to Hypertension, and being at high risk. I was off work for five months I was paid through short term disability from my Employer. After I returned back to work full-time with three children it was a difficult task. I worked 5:30am to 2:00pm. I was often tired and deprived of proper rest because, the new baby did not sleep thorough the night, and I had to be up and ready by 4:00am to make it to work on time. I did not become fully adjusted to motherhood until a year, my youngest daughter is now seven years old, and I am still getting used to the fact that I have a younger child, and a grand daughter, that are only seven years apart. My oldest daughter is now married and my middle daughter who is now seventeen will be a senior in High School this fall. Children grow up so fast it is amazing. I enjoy my children, and grand daughter, they mean the World to me. I have the most amazing family.

Family Ties

My dream, and my most life fulfilling goal at the moment is to earn my Bachelor’s degree. In the past I have tried online Course’s but the curriculum was too extensive for me. I am used to a class room setting and I was not able to keep up, in result I later dropped out of the Class. I did not consider myself to be very bright, because in my earlier years of School my grades were not the best. But when I enrolled in The Academy of Court Reporting in the fall of my graduating year, for the first semester I earned all A’s. I was very happy, and ecstatic I could not believe how many A’s I saw on my progress report. Unfortunately, I later dropped out of the College to take on a full-time Job. When I returned to the University of Akron in 1993 and earned a 3.5 GPA. I changed my Major several times throughout my College time in College. Several years ago I earned a Diploma in ICD9 and CPT Coding. I am confident, and pleased with my progress so with my progress thus far at Ashford University. I know it’s going to take Confidence, determination, hard work, great time management skills to be a successful student and earn the best grades.

Family Ties

When I think of Prosperity for my life I focus on living a healthy lifestyle personal growth, fulfilling work, and great relationships. I am the Author of my own life therefore my Prosperity reflects my uniqueness. “I can accomplish anything I put my mind to, and nothing is impossible”. (My inner voice) I have a collage; I call it a dream board I have various pictures of my dreams and goals. The collage has an image of me and my future Husband, the Engagement Ring I desire, the flowers I want etc. The visual portrayal helps me get the feelings, and the emotions of getting engaged, and having the Wedding Ceremony. I have held the position as an Accounts Receivable Analyst at my current employer for thirteen years. I have met great people who started out as co-workers and we later became good friends. Although, I my position, the Company and the people. There is no opportunity for growth or advancement. I recently applied and interviewed for a new position as a Patient Accounts Representative II with another company. The Company offers advancement and growth, more competitive Salary. I can imagine myself four years from now being the Manager over the Accounting Department, after earning my Bachelor degree in HealthCare Administration. I am waiting on a Job offer any day.

Family Ties

My family is the reason why I decided to pursue in getting my Bachelor’s Degree in HealthCare Administration. I want financial security, so that I can save for the future by becoming financially comfortable. I want my children to look up to me. I want my children to understand the importance of earning a College Education. I want my children to always go after their dreams, and realize that with hard work and determination anything is possible.
I want my children to understand that by achieving their goals, planning for the future and saving money will make them more independent. Family is very important. When I think of a family I think of “one whole” we are all one. Families have impacts on our lives whether it’s good, or bad. I strive to be successful now, and in my future, along with my family.
