Throughout the 1960’s, the fashion of the time was always changing for teen girls they would change styles, colors, and accessories . Pastels, pinks and checks were all popular for girls in 1962. Dresses and tops with special collar detailing, along with pleated skirts and button accents.There was also a trend of earth tone colors, especially
as the decade moved toward the hippie movement.(thepeoplehistory.com )Moss green, earthy browns, mustard yellow, burnt orange were common colors year round. (vintagedancer.com) With all these colors it looked like it might have colorful neighborhoods.The “baby doll” look was incorporated into dress, hair and makeup,oversize collars, bows, and delicate trim miniaturized women and made them appear smaller.(vintagedancer.com) Shapeless mini dresses de-emphasized a woman's natural from. (vintagedancer.com) This states that the girls wanted their bodies to look like a barbie’s body so they tried to copy the clothing the doll wears. Overall, the teen girls they wanted to look like a “baby doll” and loved using nature’s colors and turn them into fashion trends.
