“People with cars are so lazy that they don’t want to get out of them to eat!”
This quote from the book intrigues me; the more I thought about this line from “Fast Food Nation” I realized that it was more and more correct. Ever since the invention of the automobile and the affordability of it us Americans have become lazy. We resort to going through a drive through then getting out or going home and making our own food.

“The United States now has more prison inmates than full-time farmers.” This makes me sick; the fact that we have more prisoners than full-time farmers is horrible. Both the fact that means there is so little farmers and so much criminals.

“Today the U.S. government can demand the nation-wide recall of defective softball bats, sneakers, stuffed animals, and foam-rubber toy cows. But it cannot order a meatpacking company to remove contaminated, potentially lethal ground beef from fast food kitchens and supermarket shelves.” Reading this book has made me understand the type of stuff that is in what we eat, it is absolutely garbage. The quote is 100% right, It can’t make the fast food we eat good for us.

"Chicken McNuggets... derive much of their flavor from beef additives -- and contain twice as much fat per ounce as a hamburger.” As small as McNuggets are is surprises me that there is more fat in them than a single hamburger.

"The fast food chains often reward managers who keep their labor costs low, a practice that often leads to abuses.” In such a large corporation it offends me that managers would make their wages as low as possible instead of rewarding people that deserve it, which they probably don’t if they get rewarded for having labor costs low; because as humans we are automatically selfish.

"Meatpacking is now the most dangerous job in the United States. The injury rate in a slaughterhouse is about three times higher than the rate in a typical American factory" "...the death rate among slaughterhouse
