about one of the myths that most people believe how feminist women act and appear (i.e., have hairy legs, lesbian, mostly female) but in reality a feminist do not look like that and are not lesbians and some feminist are male. A feminist is anyone who believes in the equality between the sexes. Moreover, we have a another comic strip that explains how women can be able to do or be just about anything they want to even if society views it as ostentatious, if you want to be a mistress then be a mistress! The next page has a quote that really related to us as a group, it's about how some girls do not want play with Barbies but instead play with action figures.
The next page is a collage of words, which we found very empowering and inspiring from various magazines. Moreover, our work does illustrate the matrix of domination and intersectionality because in one of the comics it discusses how even though as a whole were all feminist, we are completely different from one another and face different types of challenges that we both could not relate too. That’s why we have different components to of feminism (Black feminist, Muslim feminist, and Asian feminist.) For the other three pages of our zine we decided to do it on song lyrics we picked “Do It Like A Dude” by Jessie J we picked this song because we feel like this song is about what are zine stands for, which is that woman can do whatever they want and not do what society says they are conform to do. The song is our favorite because the lyrics emphasize power to females. Further in the zine we have a display of a hand-drawn a word bubble that represents all the things that we’ve been called as a woman. Moreover, our theme is about female
power. The pictures we have in are zine are of models because this is what society deems as the perfect women. Many of the women are photo-shopped to look this way. The changing of women in magazines leads to a false belief of how women should look. This false belief leads women to succumb to having eating disorders, and physically harm themselves. Overall, I believe our zine is great informative illustrate of what social topics need to be discussed
