One of my favorite shows is the Barefoot Contessa starring Ina Garten. I thoroughly enjoy listening to the comforting sound of Ina’s voice, and the delightful stories she tells while she cooks. Her show transports me to an enchanted world, where life has no problems and every day is beautiful. Ina is always doing something fun like; creating lovely tea parties in her pretty garden, hosting a fabulous dinner party in her lovely home, having intimate lunches with her charming friends or sometimes cooking an extravagant meal for her husband Jeffrey.
It is entertaining to watch Ina drive around the Hamptons in her convertible Mercedes, as she stops by gourmet shops. In some episodes she drops by such places as; the florist, bakery, cheese, or wine shops. Ina gives a friendly hello to the proprietor, and they will chat about the weather or something trivial. Then, she tells the shopkeeper a little about her plans for the evening and he helps her decide what would be best for her soiree.
Once in a while, her and Jeffrey will do very romantic things like, celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary in Paris. They walk in the open markets choosing out croissants, or sit at one of the cute little outdoor cafes, where they toast the day that they met with very special champagne that they still recall from their wedding day.
This show is really so sweet. It’s as if Ina lives in this perfect small town world where everyone knows each other and are always so friendly. I want to live there too. I love being whisked away into this seemingly perfect world in the Hamptons.
When I am watching her show I feel at ease and calm like the world around me is faultless. Further, I am able to discover new recipes that I can make at home for my family. This show is one of my favorites to watch. I would love to live the life of the Barefoot Contessa.
