Favortie Vacation
8. Describe your favorite vacation spot, using expressive detail to convey why you enjoy this place. As long as I could remember, I have always wanted my family to move to Orlando. However that never happened. Even though my parents refused to move to Orlando they would take my siblings and I to Orlando every summer and sometimes even on holiday breaks when we would get out of school. Even though I couldn’t move to Orlando, it has always been my favorite place to vacation. Orlando is one city that has something pleasing to offer everyone. Going to Orlando has always made me feel as if I was still home in Jacksonville, but with more exciting things to do.
Orlando has so many different amusement parks and water parks that it has always been hard to choose which one to go. The number of parks we visited on each trip depended on how long our vacation would be. However most of the time my siblings and I would choose Universal Studios since it had two different sides of the park. If you ever get the chance to go to Universal Studios you must ride Harry Potter. You’re on the broom in the sky dodging from books, spiders, ghosts, and other creepy objects. If you enjoy that ride you must walk over to Island of Adventures and try the Incredible Hulk. This amazing ride shoots you into the air, spins you around, hangs you upside down and does it over again in reverse. Next, you should head to the Mummy. Sitting in a dark room you then began to travel through fire as suddenly you are surrounded by thousands of roaches.
You’re probably all worn out from all the rides and the heat so you might want to go get some rest. Orlando has so many resort and hotels opportunities to choose from. You have to try the Nickelodeon Suite Resort. Each room has a character theme. Isn’t that cool? Not only do you pick your theme out, each room has its own big decorated bathroom to match the theme of your room. Beside the bedrooms the resort also includes a large-size kitchen and living

Until recently Atlanta was the perfect vacation “fun” spot, but my mind quickly changed in July of this year when I visited Florida. I was blown away from the various different things you can do and see; starting from the zoos, straight to the water parks, Broadway shows and theme parks. This amazed me because each of them caters to all age groups of children and adults which make it perfect for anyone to attend. When in Florida there is no doubt that you would be bored. It is an extremely fun place to take a vacation.…

Some people come from out of state to enjoy the theme park in spring and summer break. It is a fun place because there are many things to do even though it is less rides. I still love all the roller coasters and my favorite roller coaster is the Alpengist. Lines can be long, but never disappoints me at all. Amazing roller coasters their I like most of them. They have roller coasters for adults and young children. They also have wolves, goats and a dog it is kind of cool because they are very shy and curious. During the summer time, they have fireworks. This is the best feature in the park. Everyone also enjoys the Howl-O-Scream and Christmas Town. I've never been to the Christmas town, but I heard it is nice. In December, Christmas lights are placed on the rides as décor. I really enjoy seeing penguins and having fun visiting all the different…

Society today has established numerous new types and definitions of the word “work”. The division of labor has shifted and advanced due to reasons such as globalization and gender equalization. Instead of having to stay at home and do housework, women now have options to pick the kinds of work that they prefer. Women nowadays no longer have to rely on their other half for living because they are capable and well educated. With these changes in social reformation, we have created numerous different family conditions and situations. Arlie Hochschild and Amy Chua discuss in their articles “From the Frying Pan into the Fire” and “Why Chinese Mothers are Superior” the different types of work that mothers have today. Both authors argue that despite some mothers may have to go out for work, parenting is still a form of duty which all mothers have. These two authors described the definition of work differently. However, both authors define their perception of “work” from the same perspective for mothers. It is difficult and complicated for women nowadays to successfully undertake their roles. They believe that the idea of work in today’s society has been broadened and enlarged due to social advancement and feminist reformation. Work can now exists in various forms depending on each and other’s situations. Parenting is indeed no different than working in jobs. For women in both Western and Eastern societies, the idea of work is an obligation. It can either be a job or parenting.…

When I think of Disney World I see it as this monument that has a place in all childhood memories. These memories include a lot of happiness and most importantly, fun with the family. After all of the time that I took trips to Disney, I can still clearly see the smiling children gushing over their favorite Disney characters and the equally excited parents who had to speed walk just to keep up with them. Another memory that is evident, is that feeling of nerves a person feels when they’re about to get on a scary rollercoaster, but also that feeling of accomplishment that comes after once they’ve conquered it. Disney World represents home to me not only because of the great experiences that come with it, but because it is located in my hometown Orlando. I have to admit I do miss living there and knowing that Disney World is not too far away always gives me an excuse to visit. As a kid, I would always go on trips to Disney World and its image is a fond reminder of all those happy memories and easier…

To me Miami and adventure are synonymous; they’re both exciting and unusual experiences. I can go to the swimming at the beach basically every weekend because of the constant sunshine. Nothing compares to the aroma of the salty ocean or the way your feet feel when you sink your toes into the warm soft golden sand. Miami means I can visit the only Everglades in the world. It’s a rare and beautiful place that is home to thousands of animals, and it’s truly a unique sight that one should at least experience once in their lifetime. Living in Miami means that there is never a dull day because I can always go to a Dolphins or Heat game, see a new performance at the Adrienne Arsht Center, or walk around the Design District. It seems that the necessities in life are in Miami.…

What was Lincoln supposed to say after the war? Fifty thousand people died in a total of three days, and what on earth is he supposed to say? That he is sorry, that he doesn’t know why everything happened the way that it happened? Lincoln gave a speech, it was very short, and a lot of people didn’t even listen but what he said was; that the living can honor the wartime dead not with a speech, but rather to continuing to fight for the idea’s they gave their lives for. Lincoln’s Gettysburg address was giving during the dedication ceremony for the soldiers that lost their lives in Gettysburg.…

I would like to ask the audience: When you think of a vacation in Disney World, what comes to mind? John Cloud from Time International stated it correctly when he said “You’re thinking roving packs of sunburned children who let their ice cream drip on your toes as you wait to ride Space Mountain. You're thinking overpriced hot dogs and hotel pools crammed with little kids leaving warm spots. All true, but the city has also quietly become a favored destination for adults traveling without kids”. I have been to Disney World over 30 times in my life. I have essentially grown up with Disney World so I know the best places to visit as a child and an adult. There are a variety of different exciting activities offered all within Walt Disney World. In a publication by MyPrimeTime.com, a website that offers inspiration and tips to adults, the author says that Disney World “offers adults, even without kids, so many recreation options that they can't possibly do them all in just a week… However, it's not easy to find information about [Disney World] that isn't geared for kids or families”. I am here today to show you that adults can have as much fun, if not more fun than, children at Disney World. I will begin with “Five-star Amenities”, then “Spots & Recreation”, and finally I will end with “Special Events”.…

Busch Gardens, always a fun but time consuming amusement park. Fun with all the shows, thrills, and adrenaline rushes. Time consuming with the traveling traffic, long lines, and an extreme amount of people. Another very popular vacation destination is theme parks. Places like Disney World, Dollywood, Six Flags, Universal Studios and Sea World offer big doses of high energy family fun. Theme parks are most popular amongst families with small children. There are plenty of activities geared directly toward holding children’s interests. There is also something magical about theme parks that draws in adults. The sights, the sounds, but mostly the way they make them feel. They remind them of simpler times, like when they were children and didn’t have a care in the world. The benefit to these vacations is that they require very little planning. The only thing you have to plan is how to get there. Once you arrive at the theme…
