Would you rebel against your school if it had defects? I know I would. If your government was corrupt, would you do something about it? Yep, sure. I mean i know everything has weaknesses and all but, these are major parts of a country. They seem to be made perfect but really, is everything about them perfect? If you found a weakness in a type of controlling leadership such as these, I’m sure you would exploit that. This is what I’m going to talk about.
In the novel, The Hunger Games, there is a Capitol which has complete control over the 12 districts within its vicinity. It dictates these districts and annually has an event, called the hunger games, where 2 people from each district are put in arena to fight to the death. In the 74th Hunger Games the Capitol and the gamemakers make critical mistakes.
The tributes from the lower end districts exploit these mistakes and make holes in the “perfect empire”. This makes the people living in the districts , and, the Capitol, doubtful and weary of this already corrupt government. However, It also supplies them with hope and courage, to be able to create a rebellion and take down the government that is ruining their lives.
The capitol ruined people's lives dramatically and it though of itself as invulnerable. This is a strong thought to think about yourself and if one little thing happens to break, disrupt, or even undermine it, everything will crumble beneath your skin and you won’t be able to do anything to be able to control it, let alone bring it to a halt.
Say, your school. A new rule came in that teachers had to wear uniform. They didn’t. Wouldn’t this make students not wear their uniform as well. It gives the students some sense that they shouldn’t wear it, as their teachers are setting the example and creating a sort of rebellion. This transforms into a snowball effect and like i said, it won’t be able to be controlled or stopped.
