The original exploration of the caverns done by a group of four students from St. Mary’s University, Orion Knox Jr., Preston Knodell, Al Brandt and Joe Cantu led to over a mile of underground caverns being discovered. Over the next several months an additional two miles of caverns were discovered. Development of the caves into a public attraction started in 1963 and was funded by the property owner Clara Wuest and her husband Harry Heidemann. The family worked along with the original explorers of the cave to excavate the cave opening, install lights, and develop trails. During the excavation many items of archaeological significance including arrow heads, stone tools and some type of cooking device. Also discovered inside the cave was the Jawbone of a species of Black Bear that became extinct over 8,000 years ago.…

The Naica mines are naturally occurring caves, located in Chihuahua, Mexico. The Naica mines are working mines rich in lead, zinc, and silver, which are owned by Mexico’s largest lead producer, Industrias Penoles. Within the Naica mines are caves filled with giant selenite crystals, discovered by miner brothers, Juan and Pedro Sanchez in 2000. The caves were discovered while drilling through the Naica fault during a mining expedition. The giant crystal caves are in the shape of a horseshoe and have been carved out of cretaceous limestone rocks. The caves, which are located 1,000 feet underground, have an average temperature of 50° C with 99% humidity. The hot and humid environment within the caves requires a special suit equipped with oxygen to enter the cave without risk of asphyxiation. The mines are naturally filled with heated water that is currently pumped out so the caves can be entered, without continuous pumping the caves would fill back up with water.…

This can be seen by the frequency of cave paintings on inaccessible places of the walls, fossilized foot prints of families, even alters carved out of formations in the floor. The cave was alluring to man for the basic element of shelter from: the elements, predatory animals, and most natural disasters. Paleolithic man stumbling upon a cave would be an amazing find. While they didn't have the resources or technology to build a fully enclosed rock shelter they could just find them. In the article "Sacred Places" Witcombe said "the cave has been identified as the womb of Mother Earth." This adds another attractive feature to the cave since man respected and almost certainly viewed the earth as sacred. These caves are very important to anthropologists today, where else would they be able to find intact paintings and artifacts from twenty thousand…

Employee benefits encompass a broad range of benefits—other than salary—that companies provide to their employees. Some of these benefits, such as workers' compensation, social security, and unemployment insurance, are required by law. The majority of benefits offered to employees, however, are bestowed at the discretion of the business owner. Such benefits, which are commonly called "fringe" benefits, range from such major expenditures as paid holidays, health insurance, paid vacations, employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), and profit sharing to more modest "extras" like bestowing performance awards and prizes, providing an employee lunchroom, or paying for a company picnic.…
