Feather Duster Worm Research Paper

Feather Duster Worm come from the Sabellidae family and can also be known as Tube Worms and Fan Worms. They live in tubes that they build themselves with mucus that are often attached to rock or coral. Feather duster worms can be located in all different depths of the ocean as far down as 150 ft. in depth. They can live alone or in groups with some other sea creatures such as coral, other marine worms and anemones. Their feathery tentacles are used to capture any type of plankton they happen to pass by. The tentacles then move any food it catches to the worm’s mouth. The flowery top retracts whenever it is feeling threated. If a hungry fish manages to eat a tentacle before it retracts they have the ability regrow a new one.
