Some of the complications that may occur after surgery is scarring. Scarring after a surgery procedure may affect ones decision to go through with the surgery. If a teen already feels uncomfortable with the natural look of her body, after scarring that will not change or worst case scenario, she may feel worse about her body and feel like she has to cover it up to camouflage it. Another con to surgery is obsession. After the satisfaction of having a successful surgery, a teen may feel like she must continue on with surgeries to begin a process of changing, altering or fixing any minor flaws in order to gain full satisfaction. Having multiple surgeries increases the risk or serious complications. It is possible to for someone to undergo too much surgery where they will eventually experience long term effects. In order to take a stance on circumcision, one must know some things about circumcisions. A circumcision is a procedure done to male patients. The doctor conducting the procedure first numbs the penis. Then the doctor grabs the prepuce (foreskin) and tears the synechia apart. The prepuce is held and a vertical slit is cut into the bottoms side of it. A device is laid over the prepuce, and the excess skin is cut off using a scalpel or surgical scissors. This procedure removes about one third of the penile skin, takes ten or so minutes to complete, and is often not felt, with the exception of the initial numbing, by the baby boy. Circumcisions are helpful in improving the quality of hygiene, prevention of some diseases, and his sexual partner’s health.…

I thought something new and refreshing would be good for me. Well, to tell you the truth, I've always wanted to go to the Museum of Sex. The curiosity of what it might contain, and the excitement of finally being old enough to go to this museum was so great, that my shameful embarrassment of even thinking of going to this museum was suppressed to the minimal. Also, the opportunity was there! Two of my guy friends were planning on going to the Museum of Sex that weekend and I thought to myself, ‘why not?' And that's…

As research unveils that women, regardless of age and race, have a high risk of experiencing sexual assault, the U.S. Government has responded with differing attempts at definition of sexual assault and legislature that protects victims. Over the years, these laws and policies have transitioned into providing more concrete definitions of sexual assault and rape, who is at risk, and where do victims go for help. For example, the Uniform Crime Report (2004) defines forcible rape as “[t]he carnal knowledge of a female forcibly and against her will.” A further definition of carnal knowledge is provided and incidents where it would be considered forcible rape. More recently, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (2009) released a Frequently…

What other types of vaginal restorative surgery are there? A labiaplasty may solve one woman's problems, but not another's. This is completely fine; there are other procedures surgeons perform to address different needs a woman may have. Vaginoplasty is also fairly common and is used to correct the vaginal canal. Other women need a clitoral unhooding, which removes excess prepuce tissue, and still others have a hymenoplasty done, which surgically restores the hymen. Each of these procedures have been clinically proven to improve a woman's vaginal problems without causing a lot of scarring. As technology and gynaecologist expertise continue to improve, surgeries are becoming more and more successful, and recovery times are speeding up as a…
