Feral hogs travel in a group called sounders which can range from 10 to 30 hogs. Each can weigh as much as 300 pounds and are intelligent. They are able to identify and react to a trap, making the trap useless by avoiding it. In order to successfully capture
a sounder of feral hogs, the psychology, movement, physical capabilities, and diet must be thoroughly understood and articulated upon. The trap must be unique and capable of trapping and transfer a sounder of hogs to a form of transportation without the use of specially designed parts, only supplies from hardware stores.
