Introduction

T in the Park is a music event which takes place every year which is usually held on the second week of July. This event is growing more and more popular as the year’s go on and as soon as the tickets are available it is almost an instant sell-out. This music event was first held at StrathClyde Country Park, it has now moved to Balado Airfield, Kinross in Perth. I chose this event as it is extremely popular and attracts many tourists, it also is a chance for me to identify the impacts this event has on several things as well as the advantages and disadvantages it brings. Throughout this report I will mention the Social and Cultural, Environmental and Tourism impacts TITP brings also the strategic planning which needs to be put into place to make this event a success.

Social and Cultural Impact

TITP has a massive effect on the social impact for the organisers, tourists and the people who attend this music festival. TITP can allow people from all over the world to have a shared experience and show there interest and love for music. This music festival also brings the community of Kinross together and allows them to have pride for where they live and the history and tradition this event brings. Although sometimes if the Kinross community have a negative image or their first impressions are not good enough for tourists, this could damage the impact this event brings every year. However TITP is situated in a rather excellent place as this event has been going on for years now and it is only becoming more and more popular and expanding as time goes on.
This music event also increases the participation of the community. This is such a magnificent affect as it is sometimes rather difficult for event organisers to get such a

In this next section S.W.O.T analysis will be used to analyze the festivals strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats which will provide the framework that the recommendations will be based upon. The festival has many strengths that have enabled its continued success since its infancy. The location for the festival alone is a great strength as it takes place within the popular Gros Morne National Park which provides a setting of amazing natural landscapes, and spectacular scenery for the event. It is apparent that the festivals majority of customers are locals from nearby communities, which is great as it shows the festival has the support of the nearby communities, and does not rely on visitors from afar or out of the providence. The strong focus on community can also be seen within the festival as there are various local artists, musicians, and writers showcased along with the numerous local programs and collaborations with local arts groups, including the: Theatre Newfoundland and Labrador, Gross Morne Summer Music Program, and school outreach programs.…

The inception of the Montford Park Players is well chronicled in a series of photographs taken in the first few years of its existence. Most of these are simply pictures of actors in costume, but even those are useful in discerning the scope and commitment of the organization even in the face of limited finances and resources. There are also photographs that give the viewer an idea of the space and stage in which they worked, which helps us to understand the contributions made by Parks and Recreation to MPP, which were crucial to its survival and which are important in understanding the difficulty of such an enterprise as well as the original philosophy which drove the Robinsons to create free Shakespeare in the Park in Asheville (a phenomenon that remains extremely rare in the United States, with fewer than ten other American cities hosting free Shakespeare festivals, and nearly all of these far larger than Asheville).…

Centre Parc’s unique selling point is their varied outdoor activities and leisure pursuits, they seek to appeal to families with relatively young children – they target the more active, and affluent family holiday market. Their target market are also more environmentally aware and the company must also therefore demonstrate its ‘green credentials’, for example with explicit statements about reducing carbon emissions, to appeal to this sector of the market. In addition to a strong environmental element, there is also a strong element of the legislative framework that Centre Parcs need to be mindful of. Their outdoor pursuits and activities programmes must be scrupulously careful to adhere to all relevant safety and welfare regulations. Centre Parc’s must make sure that they are up to date with all the new licensing laws and legislations.…

In this programme, UiTM sent two groups of students along to perform in the event. The first group is a choir group and the other group is a ‘keroncong’ group. I am one of the ‘keroncong; group member. These two groups were chosen because both group performances can exhibit the application of musical theory and technique. For example choir uses the SATB and ‘keroncong’ uses a lot of rhythm comping and unique instruments. These features are expected to attract student’s interest in learning music deeper.…
