This booklet was inspired by and written for participants in the Festival Encouragement Project (FEP), a program co-created in 2003 by the
Center for Cultural Innovation and supported by a grant from the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs (LADCA). The goal of the FEP is to build the strength and capacity of selected outdoor cultural celebrations produced in L.A. that serve residents and tourists.
