I have chosen to write about this organization because I have participated in multiple of the marches that are held in the Lee County region. Many of my family members have worked at Publix which strongly supports the March of Dimes foundation and partakes in all events held in our area. My family and I have attended as many of the marches that we can to support their great cause.…

Rodriguez’s personal experiences with teen pregnancies through her family inspired her to encourage a change. Her mother and her siblings each became a teen parent, and Rodriguez became a witness to the hardships and struggles faced when teens experience an unintended pregnancy, and struggle to financially support their child(ren), often due to being unable to continue their education. Rodriguez, although many - including her siblings - believe she will make the same mistakes as her family, does not want to be seen as “... just another pregnant teen statistic with no future”…

When most people think about a fetus, the first thing that comes to mind is innocence. Due to the views on a fetus, experimentation is not publically endorsed. People can be uninformed about fetal experimentation, which can lead to rumors of conspiracy revolving around the research. If people would take a step back and learn about fetal tissue exploration, then these fabrications would not longer take place. Just like anything within the research field, there are going to be pros and cons. The pros outweigh the cons, then the research should then be justified, even if it is on innocent fetal tissue. With this knowledge of tissues is rising, this causes many studies to show more potential cures for illnesses, with enormous potential, and gives…

My first patient is an 18-year-old, black female who came for abdominal pain. To plan and provide nursing care on this patient, I did a focused assessment first. As the patient answered some of my questions, I have figured out that the patient has undergone abortion last March 21, 2017 and she never went back for a 2-week follow-up appointment. She has a constant pain in her mid-abdomen that radiates going to her pelvic area to the back. Her pain level is 7/10. Her V/S are normal except BP was 135/95. To rule out the cause of her abdominal pain, the primary health care provider ordered a CBC, U/A, CMP and abdominal ultrasound.…
