Figurative Language In Edgar Allan Poe's 'Invisible Garden'
The writer tried to describe his invisible garden in some ways. One of them was with the usual way to use a sentence. The other way was with using figurative language.
Firstly, he described how his friend usually doing when he was talking about his garden. He side, “sometimes my friend gives me a funny look when I talk about my garden”. Also, here he used the word funny in way that the reader has to figurative. Secondly, in the other statement he express the word drudgery in way that the reader has to figurative to get the idea of that. He wrote, “I’d always thought of weeding as such drudgery”. Thirdly, the author used the word menu in usual way or as people always use it. He mentioned that in this sentence “I think I’ll have the clam sauce,
