He couldn’t part from his devotion his passion of fly fishing. The older brother comes back home, once he finished his schooling at Dartmouth. His younger brother got a job at a local newspaper, where he was a journalist. The older brother Norman Maclean, comes to the realization that he brother has become consumed by the thrill of gambling.
Also he had become an alcoholic. Yet at the same time he realizes that he brother had turned his fly fishing into and art form. Watching him fish was like watching a painter composing a beautiful canvas. It was truly an undeniably perfect skill that god has blessed him with. I think that Paul Maclean (younger brother) became an alcoholic due to the fact he was so gregarious and incredibly attractive man not to mention extremely likable and charming individual. Throughout this heart crisping and tear-jerking piece we see the relationship between the two brothers slowly fall apart. This is a have to see film; it is one of my
favorites. At the ending of it I broke down in tears. I won’t give away the ending you’ll just have to watch it for yourself. It is an amazing picture and is a must see film!
